Treasure in the Discarded Refuse 4
It's the cool of the day. The sun's intense heat had dissipated, and was replaced by a soothing and gentle calmness. The moon and stars were about to begin their shift.
She walked with her face down, reflecting how weak and almost lifeless she was.
Her hands were by her side and looked so wobbly.
Her hair looked unkempt and rough as though a racoon just dealt with her hair.
Her eyes were now red and swollen due to the prolonged cry.
Anyone would literally think she was a zombie at the sight of her.
All that was going on in her head was to die. She thought dying was the only way she could end the tragedy that her life had always been.
She moved closer to the railing of the bridge.
She just found a good way to end her life.
She patiently waited until there was no living being around that vicinity.
She began to climb the railings with tears in her eyes.
"She shouldn't die, no suicide is not an option." A smaller portion of her will be warned. But a larger portion of her will just wanted to end it all.
"All life has ever caused me is pain. What is the purpose of my being? Nobody loves me! Nobody cares! All my life I have been pathetic and miserable. The broken family that led me into the hands of a rapist who called himself "my uncle" , the rape scenario that made me become a prostitute, the bastard in my womb and the STI. I am finished! You win, world! You win!
Just as she was about to take a leap into the ocean to end her life, a hand reached out to her and gripped her firmly.
"No, miss. You can't end your life like this. There's more planned for you."
She laughed with so much pain in her voice and said, "I know there's so much suffering ahead of me and that's why I am ending this miserable life now. Let go of me!"
"Look, miss. You are not alone in this world.
You are loved and cherished by God. He has a good plan for you. His word says in Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope."
There's a good plan God has for your life. From the beginning of time He made you to fulfill His will. He has a purpose for you. He is aware of all that has happened to you. And He's saying to you this evening to come home.
His word says again in Matthew 11:28
"Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."
"There is rest in Jesus. He is beckoning on you. It is not a coincidence that I met you in a state like this. God has always been intentional about you. Please, come down."
"I just want to die!" she said with tears rolling down her eyes uncontrollably.
"But Jesus wants you to live. He said in His word in the book of John 10:10 "The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly." He had paid the price of death by dying in your place. He has life, and if you would let Him into your heart, His life would be your light. Please, come down. I pray in Jesus name that you come down and every desire to take your life, I bring to judgment now!"
She began to step down from the railing.
"Thank you, Jesus." The stranger said.
She finally stepped down on the ground, bent down and buried her head on her thighs and began to weep.
"Don't worry. There's so much sense Jesus will make from your life. There's so much renewal He will do for you. He will change your life and translate you from the kingdom of darkness to light." The stranger said.
She raised her head up and asked for water to drink.
"I have a bottle of water in my car. Let's go to my car." The stranger said.
After she drank from the bottle of water, they both got inside the car and he drove away.
