Debbie paced to and fro in her room that had literally become a mess from the pieces of paper she threw all around the room in anger.

She moved to the desk in the opposite direction and tore out a sheet of paper.

“I will keep trying till I become just like her. I will keep practicing the art of drawing till I am like her or even better.” She said to herself as she drew in anger and frustration.

She drew over and over again but each attempt only made her more frustrated.

Tears started to form in her eyes, and in a short while, she bursted out in tears.

“Why can’t I do this? What is so special about drawing that I find it so hard to do? My room is literally a mess right now because of this so-called drawing talent I am trying to have.

God, why can’t I learn this? Why did you give me nothing? Speak to me, explain why I am without talent.”  She said aloud as she cried.

She stood up and sat on the green rug in her room and continued to cry profusely. Her eyes were now red and swollen due to the excessive cry.

“Why have you decided to look outward when all you seek has been given to you?

“Why is Hephzibah your mirror when my word is supposed to be your mirror?”

She clearly heard these words as she sat on the rug and knew it was the Holy Spirit.

“I have tried to check within. I have tried out various activities in a bid to discover what it is I am good at, but I have none. Trying to be like Hephzibah is the best I could. At least if I cannot find a part of myself, I can be like someone else.”

“You are venturing into an area beyond the scope of your grace. Did you not know that you will lose yourself in the bid to be like someone else? Why communicate along an area where grace is not given?

You were made for different impacts and were given different graces for the assignment. Your role is different from hers. Why not walk the path I have set before you?

Debbie, you are a king in the kingdom and territory I have placed you. Do not fight or envy the throne of another person’s kingdom.

There is a throne in your own kingdom and you have your own scepter.

I did not make you her, I made you you.

Rather than look at yourself in the mirror of Hephzibah’s life, why not look at yourself in the mirror of my word?

Open the scriptures to Jeremiah 1:5.” He said.

Debbie opened the scriptures and read to herself.

Jeremiah 1:5  “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you; before you were born, I sanctified you; and I ordained you a prophet to the nations.”

“You are not useless. You are my vessel and I will use you for my glory.

Open the scriptures to Ephesians 2:10 and Ephesians 4:7.” He continued.

Debbie opened the scriptures and read to herself.

Ephesians 2:10  “For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Ephesians 4:7 “But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.

“You have been apportioned grace to do good works.” He said.

As the conversation went on, Debbie remembered she used to write stories and speak before the class when she was much younger.

She screamed. “I found it! Thank you, Holy Spirit. I am sorry I didn’t realise it on time. I am sorry I failed to look at myself in the mirror of your word. Now I know better. I am unique and nothing like Hephzibah; I am graced in a different field.

Now, I will only look at myself in the mirror of your word. Please help me use this grace you have given me for your glory alone. Amen”  Debbie said  these words with so much joy in her heart.

She stopped desiring to be like Hephzibah and started to grow in her area of grace as God granted her capacity to.

Dear woman, the Lord has apportioned to you a measure of grace and He wants you to use it for His glory.

You probably haven’t identified what this grace is or have no idea of what God has made you. But I tell you the truth that there is indeed something about you. All you need to do is look at yourself in the mirror of God’s word and discover who you truly are.

Begin to look at the mirror of God’s word daily until all you can see is who God has made you.

Do not fight or envy someone else’s level of grace.

All you need to do is discover yours and walk in it.

Knowing purpose and fulfilling it is only possible in Jesus Christ.

That path can never be known outside of Christ.

God is reaching out to you today. He is saying, “come home to where you truly belong.”

If you would like to go back to God and make it right with Him and journey in the path He would have you walk, say this prayer:

“Lord Jesus, thank you for the gift of salvation. I acknowledge that I am a sinner. Please forgive me all my sins and make me your own. Help me to know you, love you and serve you. Make known to me who you have made me, and help me fulfil purpose. Amen.”

I really hope this blessed you.

I would love to know your thoughts about this.
